Two local actors are reunited as the female leads in The Kitchen Witches, a comedy by Caroline Smith that opens February 9th in the Firemen’s Kitchen.

The two actors, Connie Bools and Chrissy Colavecchio, were last on stage together in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, which played in the Firemen’s Kitchen in April 2015.

Bools has been a frequent presence on the Hickory stage, averaging one role a season over the past two decades. She prefers comedies and has had great parts in shows like Wonder of the World and The Game’s Afoot. She doesn’t tend to go for musicals but couldn’t resist the role of Hold Me Touch me in The Producers. Some of her favorite roles have been in Molly Bass’ plays, including being in two different HCT productions of both By a Flared Nostril and Junk.

Colavecchio was very active in theatre in college but took a hiatus to raise a family. She returned to the stage after relocating to Hickory in 2012 to play Helen in Becky’s New Car, followed by the teacher, Miss Shields in A Christmas Story. She has also served on the Theatre’s Board of Directors

Performances of The Kitchen Witches are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm (Feb 9, 10, 16, 17, 23 & 24); Thursdays at 7:30pm (Feb 15 & 22); and Sundays at 2:30pm (Feb 18 & 25.)
