Filled with fairy tale romance and a fearless young woman's quest for truth, the epic Broadway musical ANASTASIA plays in the Jeffers Theatre at HCT through December 16th.
Making his HCT debut in this epic musical tale of lost identity and true love is Ensemble member Arlo Alvarez.
A Granite Falls native now living in Hickory, Alvarez is a Junior at South Caldwell High School (Go, Spartans!) whose twin passions are theater and all things related to space exploration. A member of the International Thespian Society, Arlo's acting and crew credits include SEUSSICAL JR., 10 WAYS TO SURVIVE THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE, and THE WIZRD OF OZ. He also recently performed at Carenegie Hall in New York City along with his school choir.
"I wanted to start working in community theatre," Alvarez says of his decision to audition for ANASTASIA, "and I love musicals and big dance numbers." For Alvarez, the experience has been enjoyable and enlightening. "The fact that you can see how much work is put into shows is one of my favorite things."
Performances of ANASTASIA are Friday and Saturday, December 15th & 16th at 7:30PM; and, Thursday, December 14th at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $16 for adults, $10 for youth and students.
