Hail To The Cast: Holley Dagenhardt is Jean in POTUS

OMG! When a four-letter word sets off a political PR nightmare, seven take-charge women have 24 hours to keep the President—and the rest of the free world—from falling apart.

Nominated for three Tony Awards, the hilariously unruly and pointedly profane POTUS plays in the Firemen’s Kitchen at HCT from October 27th through November 4th. (Please see below for an update on performances and ticket availability.)

Attenzione! Per favore, unisci le mani* for the return of Kay Award winner Holley Dagenhardt as Jean, the White House Press Secretary who must control the narrative while cleaning up the President's mess.

(*That's Italian for "put your hands together." Grazie.)

Born, raised and still residing here in Hickory, Dagenhardt is a Registered Dietitian & Nutritionist who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health from UNC-Chapel Hill, and a Master's Degree in Nutrition from Appalachian State University. In addition to her favorite role, as Mom to two college-aged children, Dagenhardt is an avid hiker, gardener and yoga practitioner.

Dagenhardt is a familiar face to audiences throughout the Catawba County area. Her last performance at HCT was Ensemble/Milan Stage Manager in KINKY BOOTS, for which she received a Kay Award for Outstanding Character Actor. Other appearances at HCT include THE JUNGLE FUN ROOM and THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER.

Dagenhardt most recently appeared in BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL at The Green Room Community Theatre. She has performed in such Green Room productions as MAMMA MIA! and STEEL MAGNOLIAS, and was Co-Choreographer for LAST STOP ON MARKET STREET and the MTA-nominated HELLO, DOLLY! Other credits include HUB Station productions of BRIGHT STAR and MADAME BUTTERMILK, which Dagenhardt also choreographed, as well as numerous commercial, TV and film appearances.

For Dagenhardt, POTUS is an opportunity to push herself artistically: "to do an edgier, adult, fast-paced comedy." She has fully embraced the many contradictions and challenges faced by her character. "She's sassy and always tries to put a positive spin on things."

All regularly scheduled performances of POTUS have sold out. Two additional performances have been added for Thursday, October 26th at 7:30 PM, and Sunday, November 5th at 2:30 PM.

Tickets are $16 for adults, $10 for youth and students.

Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.

POTUS is rated R for strong language and adult situations. Consider yourself warned. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

POTUS is produced in association with Dad's Garage. The Hickory Community Theatre’s 75th season is sponsored by Paramount Automotive, SunBelt Xpress and Green Park Dentistry. HCT is a funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
