OMG! When a four-letter word sets off a political PR nightmare, seven take-charge women have 24 hours to keep the President—and the rest of the free world—from falling apart.
Nominated for three Tony Awards, the hilariously unruly and pointedly profane POTUS plays in the Firemen’s Kitchen at HCT through November 5th.
Making her Hickory Community Theatre debut as Harriet, the frazzled-but-fiercely determined White House Chief of Staff, is newcomer Melissa Grozier.
Grozier holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business-Marketing from UNC-Greensboro, and currently works as Global Sales Manager for Esko Graphics in Wilkesboro. She is an avid Carolina Hurricanes supporter, and enjoys junk journaling, reading, and attending concerts in her free time.
Though this is Grozier's first show at Hickory Community Theatre, she has been very active in area theatre in recent years. This includes productions of A GAME at Foothills Performing Arts, as well as SOUTHERN FRIED FUNERAL, MUSICAL COMEDY MURDERS and JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT at Creative Arts Show Time.
For Grozier, who appreciates the variety of shows produced at Hickory Community Theatre, POTUS is just the challenge she was looking for. "The script pushes boundaries and gets me out of my comfort zone."
All remaining performances of POTUS are sold out.
Tickets for upcoming Season 75 events are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.
POTUS is rated R for strong language and adult situations. Consider yourself warned. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
POTUS is produced in association with Dad's Garage. The Hickory Community Theatre’s 75th season is sponsored by Paramount Automotive, SunBelt Xpress and Green Park Dentistry. HCT is a funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
