Hail To The Cast: Thelma E. Eley is Margaret in POTUS

In politics, a lot can happen in 24 hours. For seven women scrambling behind the scenes to save the President from himself, a day will be the difference between political stability and global crisis. A brash new farce about the perils of power, POTUS plays in the Firemen’s Kitchen at HCT through this Sunday, November 5th.

Returning to the HCT stage as Margaret, the feisty First Lady, is Thelma E. Eley.

Originally hailing from Garysburg, North Carolina, Eley relocated to Hickory after living and working in Omaha, Nebraska, and has now been in the Catawba County area for almost two decades. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from East Carolina University, and works as a Strategic Sourcing Manager for CBRE, Inc. She is a member of the Hickory Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and currently serves on HCT's Board of Directors. In her free time she enjoys reading, traveling, playing board games, and being with friends and family.

Eley last appeared at Hickory Community Theatre as an Ensemble member in KINKY BOOTS. Other HCT credits include THE COLOR PURPLE, AIN'T MISBEHAVIN', THE WIZ and CROWNS, for which she won a Kay Award for Outstanding Character Actress.

Eley praises Hickory Community Theatre for quality productions that create "the opportunity for so many talented individuals to perform and positively impact our communities." Eley is equally impressed by the cutting edge comedy of POTUS, and her character's powerful poise in the midst of personal and political turmoil.

All remaining performances of POTUS are sold out.

Tickets for upcoming Season 75 events are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.

POTUS is rated R for strong language and adult situations. Consider yourself warned. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

POTUS is produced in association with Dad's Garage. The Hickory Community Theatre’s 75th season is sponsored by Paramount Automotive, SunBelt Xpress and Green Park Dentistry. HCT is a funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
