From album to stage to screen, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR has enraptured audiences for decades with its unique musical take on the life, works, and death of Jesus Christ. Now, for your Lent-ertainment, the iconic rock opera plays on the Pamela Livingstone Stage at Hickory Community Theatre, April 4th through April 19th.
She's cozied up to presidents and Broadway producers. She's met the challenges of married life and the afterlife. She is Kay Award winner Hannah Pratt, returning to the Jeffers Theatre at HCT as Mary Magdalene in this production.
A lifelong resident of the area, Pratt holds a degree in English Secondary Education & Theatre from Appalachian State University. A teacher at North Lincoln High School (Go, Knights!), Pratt runs the school's Drama Club and Chamber Choir, and has directed Blumey Award-winning productions of ANASTASIA and INTO THE WOODS. When not teaching or performing, Pratt enjoys cooking and gardening.
Pratt made a memorable debut at HCT as Kitty in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, for which she received a Kay Award for Outstanding Featured Performer. She was part of the Pamela Livingstone Outstanding Ensemble in POTUS, and most recently appeared in the Jeffers Theatre as Ocean O'Connell Rosenberg in RIDE THE CYCLONE. Pratt has received awards for performances in THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW and ROCK OF AGES at Lincolnton Theatre Guild, and appeared in 9 TO 5 and MAMMA MIA! at The Green Room Community Theatre, where she also directed a MTA-nominated production of HELLO, DOLLY!
"I've been obsessed since college," says Pratt of her love for this production. "It's a dream show and role. Mary is a progressive female role; a fringe woman who represents true compassion and values of all religions."
