Heaven On Their Mind: Meet JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR Ensemble member Alice Gomez

What's the buzz? Over 50 years since it was first performed, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR continues to dazzle. Set in the last week of his life, the iconic rock opera explores the struggles between Jesus Christ, his followers, and the powers that be. It concludes its run at HCT this weekend, April 17th-19th.
Returning to the Pamela Livingstone Stage in this production is Ensemble member Alice Gomez. A Hickory resident and Library Assistant at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library, Gomez holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Performance, with a minor in Early Childhood Development from Lees-McRae College.
While at Lees-McRae College, Gomez appeared in such productions as THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, for which she received a Theatre Arts Performance Award, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS and THE ADDAMS FAMILY MUSICAL.
After a three year hiatus to focus on her teaching and library career, Gomez returned to the stage in her Hickory Community Theatre debut, playing Carla in IN THE HEIGHTS. Gomez recently collaborated with the Green Room Community Theatre on THE TREE IN ME, an original one-act play that she wrote, and which toured local libraries for young audiences.

Performances of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR are this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 17th through April 19th at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for youth and students.
Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is rated PG-13. Some material may not be appropriate for children under 13.
