Filled with song and spectacle, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's hit musical JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR examines the passion, perils, and sacrifice of Jesus Christ's final days. It finishes its run in the at HCT this weekend, April 17th-19th.
From fashion runways to rock clubs, family interventions to castle sieges, Sierra Doyle-Rios has seen it all at HCT. Here, she returns as an Ensemble member in this superb production.
Born in California, Doyle-Rios moved to Hickory as a kid and hasn't looked back. A Sewing Machine Operator for King Hickory Furniture, she enjoys sewing, knitting, and gardening in her free time.
HCT audiences know Doyle-Rios from her work in such shows as BARBECUE, KINKY BOOTS, THE PIRATE QUEEN, MACBETH, SOMETHING ROTTEN, THE JUNGLE FUN ROOM, LEGALLY BLONDE, and as part of Kay Award-winning Outstanding Ensembles in CHICAGO and THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG. Other area credits include GYPSY, SORDID LIVES, and THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW for Just Two Guys Productions, THE LITTLE MERMAID at The Green Room Community Theatre, and DRINKING HABITS at Foothills Performing Arts (for which she won a Best Character Actress Willy Award).
For Doyle-Rios, who previously performed in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR at Old Colony Players, this current production at HCT is another bite at the musical theatre apple. "It's the first time I've repeated a show. love the music. I love the dancing. Absolutely my favorite part."
Performances of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR are this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 17th through April 19th at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for youth and students.
Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is rated PG-13. Some material may not be appropriate for children under 13.
