Filled with song and spectacle, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's hit musical JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR examines the passion, perils, and sacrifice of Jesus Christ's final days. It plays in the Jeffers Theatre at HCT from April 4th through April 19th.

Making his Hickory Community Theatre debut as Caiaphas is Noah Messick.

A lifelong Hickory resident and Senior at Lenoir-Rhyne University, Messick is studying towards a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Performance, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sacred Music. He also appeared on stage there as Lurch in the LR Playmakers production of THE ADDAMS FAMILY MUSICAL.

"SUPERSTAR is a show I've wanted to do since I was a teenager," says Messick of his involvement in this production. He is also grateful for the opportunity to expand his performance repertoire here in his hometown, "to experience theatre close to home with quality performers and performance spaces, and show off both ends of my range."

Performances of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR are Fridays and Saturdays, April 4th through April 19th at 7:30 PM; Sundays, April 6th and 13th at 2:30 PM; and, Thursday, April 17th at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for youth and students.

Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.

JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is rated PG-13. Some material may not be appropriate for children under 13.

JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR is produced in association with MOReON Productions. The Hickory Community Theatre’s 76th season is sponsored by A Cleaner World, Belle Age, Covington Dental, LifeRootz, Protection Products, Inc., and Shurtape Technologies. HCT is a Funded Affiliate of Arts Culture Catawba and receives additional support from the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
