Killin' It: Meet Ensemble member Bethany Spears from A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER

Witty, wicked and hilariously inventive, the Tony Award-winning A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER plays in the Jeffers Theatre at HCT from August 25th through September 16th.

Returning to the Hickory Community Theatre stage in this sophisticated musical satire, is Ensemble member and Kay Award winner Bethany Spears.

Hailing from Hudson, NC, Spears currently lives in Hickory and works as a Medical Assistant for FryeCare Family Physicians. She holds an Associate in Arts degree from Catawba Valley Community College, and has recently added crochet to her list of personal pursuits when not working or performing.

Spears previously appeared at HCT as Regina in ROCK OF AGES, and as Church Lady Doris in THE COLOR PURPLE, for which she won a Kay Award for Outstanding Featured Female Performer. Spears has also appeared as Ti Moune in ONCE ON THIS ISLAND and Amelia McQueen in AIN'T MISBEHAVIN', both at The Green Room Community Theatre. Spears has been a team player behind the scenes at HCT, too, as stage manager for TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS and PUFFS, and as a crew member for numerous other productions.

"I love to sing and this show is full of fun music," Spears says of A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER. She is grateful to be developing her craft in such a creatively challenging production, and for any time she gets to hang out with HCT's canine ambassador Sir Samuel.

Performances of A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER are Fridays and Saturdays, August 25th through September 16th at 7:30 PM; Sundays, September 3rd and 10th at 2:30 PM; and, Thursday, September 14th at 7:30 PM.

Tickets are $16 for adults, $10 for youth and students.

Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.

A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER is rated PG. Some material may not be suitable for children.

A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER is produced in association with Ken Wilkinson and Hickory Allergy, Asthma & Sinus.
