Killin' It: Meet Ensemble member Lisa Matthews from A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER

Witty, wicked and hilariously inventive, the Tony Award-winning A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER plays in the Jeffers Theatre at HCT from August 25th through September 16th.

Making her Hickory Community Theatre debut in this entertaining ode to serial killers is Ensemble member Lisa Matthews.

Hailing from the "Music City" that is Memphis, TN, Matthews currently lives in Statesville and works as an Office Manager and Choir Director for First Baptist Church Mocksville. When not engaged in musical or theatrical pursuits, Matthews enjoys music trivia, cross-stitching, and watching Turner Classic Movies.

Matthews' previous theatre credits include SISTER ACT and THE PRODUCERS for the Piedmont Players, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE at the Davie County Arts Council in Mocksville, and NUNSENSE for Theatre Statesville.

Matthews is grateful to be working alongside friends Kaylyn and Laura Hall in this, her first production at HCT. A self-described fan of musical Ensemble roles, Matthews also embraces being "the actor most likely to laugh at everything...and everybody."

Performances of A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER are Fridays and Saturdays, August 25th through September 16th at 7:30 PM; Sundays, September 3rd and 10th at 2:30 PM; and, Thursday, September 14th at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $16 for adults, $10 for youth and students.

Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.

A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER is rated PG. Some material may not be suitable for children.

A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER is produced in association with Ken Wilkinson and Hickory Allergy, Asthma & Sinus. The Hickory Community Theatre’s 75th season is sponsored by Paramount Automotive, SunBelt Xpress and Green Park Dentistry. HCT is a funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
