Meet Dalton Isaac as Lord Richard Bingham in THE PIRATE QUEEN

THE PIRATE QUEEN, a musical saga based on the life of Irish Chieftain and pirate Grace O'Malley, closes out Hickory Community Theatre’s 73rd season June 3rd-18th.

Cutting a delightfully diabolical figure in this production, as Ireland's ruthless English governor Lord Richard Bingham, is Dalton Isaac.

Hailing originally from Maiden but now residing in Newton, Isaac currently works as a pharmacist. In his free time he enjoys hiking, kayaking, reading, and playwriting.

Isaac has impressed audiences in the Hickory area and across the country. Among his regional credits are LEND ME A TENOR, MAMA MIA! and ANNIE at The Round Barn Theatre, THE FANTASTICKS at the Skokie Theatre-Performing Arts Center, and a national tour of A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS. (Good grief, that's a lot!) Closer to home, Isaac previously performed at Hickory Community Theatre as Cagelle in LA CAGE AUX FOLLES. He has also performed at The Green Room Community Theatre in FOREVER PLAID, THE ADDAMS FAMILY, BIG RIVER and PETER PAN. In addition, Isaac dedicates his time, energy and support as a board member at Theatre Statesville.

For Isaac, coming on board this voyage of THE PIRATE QUEEN was an easy decision to make. “I love [show creators] Boubil and Schonberg,” he says. "MISS SAIGON is one of my favorites." And while he relishes his role as a bad guy, Isaac is most glad to be back among the good things he's experienced at HCT, especially "the sense of community, and quality of shows and performers."

Performances of THE PIRATE QUEEN are Fridays and Saturdays, June 3rd through June18th at 7:30 PM; Sunday, June 12th at 2:30 PM; and, Thursday, June 16th at 7:30 PM. Opening Night, June 3, features reduced-price tickets: $12 for adults, $10 for youth and students. Tickets for all other performances are $16 for adults, $10 for youth and students.
