Rocking The Stage: Meet Ensemble member Chris "Clam" Sepulveda

An electrifying tribute to the iconic music of the 1980s, the Tony-nominated ROCK OF AGES plays in the Jeffers Theatre at HCT from January 27th through February 4th.

Returning to the HCT for this rock 'n' roll fairy tale is Ensemble member Chris "Clam" Sepulveda.

Hailing from Worcester, Massachusetts—hometown of 1980s music sensation The J. Geils Band—Sepulveda now resides in Newton and works as Creative Director for Golden Ticket Cinemas. Having that cinematic portal into other universes is one reason Sepulveda describes himself as being able to "escape the real world for a time, unwind and have fun."

It's been almost five years since Sepulveda last appeared on the Hickory Community Theatre stage in 2018's THE HOBBIT. Sepulveda also won a 2007 Outstanding Ensemble Kay Award for his performance in THE STREETS OF HICKORY. In addition to his Kay Award, Sepulveda has been nominated three times for a Metrolina Theatre Association Award. In the interim between HCT productions Sepulveda has remained busy on stage, in the community, and on screen. Area residents may have crossed paths with him during the holidays in his work with CHRISTMAS PRESENT and LAKE HICKORY HAUNTS. Sepulveda himself has crossed over into the Marvel and DC cinematic universes with an on-screen appearance in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, and he encourages audiences to look for him in the upcoming SHAZAM: FURY OF THE GODS.

Describing the 1980s as a fantastic time in his life, Sepulveda is grateful for the opportunity to relive those memories with the amazing actors in this production.

Performances of ROCK OF AGES are Fridays and Saturdays, January 27th through February 4th at 7:30 PM; Sunday, January 29th at 2:30 PM; and, Thursday, February 2nd at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $16 for adults, $10 for youth and students.

Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.

ROCK OF AGES is rated R for strong language and adult situations.

ROCK OF AGES is produced in association with Lowes Foods, Alex Lee and MDI. The Hickory Community Theatre’s 74th season is sponsored by Paramount Automotive, SunBelt Xpress and Frye Regional Medical Center. HCT is a funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
