Ties That Bind: Rebecca White is Adlean in BARBECUE

Tough love and a healthy serving of family dysfunction are on the menu in Robert O'Hara's raucous comedy BARBECUE, which concludes its run in the Firemen's Kitchen at HCT this weekend, March 7th-9th.

Returning to the Hickory Community Theatre stage as painkiller-popping sibling Adlean is Rebecca White.

Originally hailing from Greensboro, White currently lives and works in Statesville as a dance instructor for Centre Ballet Conservatory. She is trained in classical ballet and other dance disciplines, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible and Religion from Tennessee's King College.

White made her Hickory Community Theatre debut in KINKY BOOTS. She went on to appear in A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER, as well as performing in and serving as choreographer for ANASTASIA. Other area credits include CABARET, THE JUNGLE BOOK and A CHRISTMAS CAROL at Theatre Statesville (where she is also a Board member), and WILLY WONKA at The Green Room Community Theatre.

White enjoys the people and quality of shows at Hickory Community Theatre, and especially appreciates the opportunity to play a character she describes as "the opposite of her personality."

All remaining performances of BARBECUE are currently SOLD OUT. If you would like to be placed on a wait list in the rare event that tickets become available, please contact the Hickory Community Theatre by phone at 828-328-2283. Please be aware that you may be notified at the last minute. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.

BARBECUE is rated R for adult language and mature subject matter.

The Hickory Community Theatre’s 75th season is sponsored by Paramount Automotive, SunBelt Xpress and Green Park Dentistry. HCT is a funded affiliate of the United Arts Council of Catawba County.
