Where There's A Will: Bianca Moten plays Alice Heminges in THE BOOK OF WILL

"They would be...deathless."

It is London, 1619, and members of the King's Men theatre troupe are shuffling off this mortal coil. It's up to those left behind to preserve the words, wit and wisdom of William Shakespeare for future generations.

A joyous ode to Shakespeare's legacy and those who made it possible, Lauren Gunderson's heartfelt historical comedic drama THE BOOK WILL finishes its extended run in the Firemen's Kitchen this Thursday and Friday, March 20th and March 21st.

Making her HCT debut as world-wise daughters Alice Heminges and Susannah Shakespeare, is Bianca Moten.

Born and raised in Kings Mountain, Moten studied History & Theatre at Belmont Abbey College and currently works for State Farm Insurance. She enjoys drawing, and watching and reading works of science fiction. Though this is her first show for HCT, Moten is no stranger to the joys of performing in the world of Shakespeare. She has already played Lady Macbeth in a production of MACBETH at Belmont Abbey College, where she also played Amy in a production of LITTLE WOMEN. She also played Hermia in a production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM for Encore Theatre Company, and Miranda in a production of THE TEMPEST at Western Carolina University. Other area credits include roles in SCROOGE: THE MUSICAL at Matthews Playhouse, and most recently in A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM at FUMC Gastonia.

"I love the way this show brings the past to the present in an accessible way," Moten says of THE BOOK OF WILL, "and the way it portrays love, loss, and grief." Moten is also a big fan of her character in the show: "Alice is strong-willed and funny. She feels so real."

Performances of THE BOOK OF WILL are Friday and Saturday, March 20th and March 21st at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for youth and students.

Tickets are available online at hickorytheatre.org, or by phone at 828-328-2283. The theatre box office is open from 12-5 PM Wednesday through Friday, or one half-hour before a performance.

THE BOOK OF WILL is rated PG. Some material may not be appropriate for children.

THE BOOK OF WILL is produced in association with Alice and John McDonough, and David and Maria Williams, with additional support from Steve Austin and Sherry Griffin. The Hickory Community Theatre’s 76th season is sponsored by A Cleaner World, Belle Age, Covington Dental, LifeRootz, Protection Products, Inc., and Shurtape Technologies.
