Where There's A Will: Meet Ensemble member Allison Finch from THE BOOK OF WILL

"Publish or vanish, wasn't it? We are near certain of the latter if we refuse this."

Three years after Shakespeare's death, theatre companies and publishers are still pirating and printing his plays without permission. Now, it's up to Henry Condell and John Heminges, and a host of supportive family and surprising allies, to ensure that the Bard's true words are published and preserved for everyone. Warm, witty and suspenseful, Lauren Gunderson's historical dramatic comedy THE BOOK WILL plays in the Firemen's Kitchen at Hickory Community Theatre from February 28th through March 15th.

Returning to the Hickory Community Theatre stage in this production is Ensemble member Allison Finch.

A lifelong Catawba County resident, history and Shakespeare enthusiast Finch holds a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She is a CAD Draftsman for Designs Ultd. whose hobbies include cosplay, mermaiding, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and being a voracious reader. It's no wonder Finch considers herself "the actor most likely to offer random trivia no one asked for."

Finch previously appeared at HCT in RIPCORD, THE THANKSGIVING PLAY, NOISES OFF, and SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE. Other area credits include REX'S EXES and THE RED VELVET CAKE WAR for Shelby Community Theatre, THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES for Foothills Performing Arts, and LITTLE WOMEN for Creative Arts Show Time. Her love of performing the Bard has played out in productions of MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, MACBETH, and LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST (with The Green Room Community Theatre) and THE COMEDY OF ERRORS (with Lenoir-Rhyne University).

"It's always fun to play with accents and make minor characters interesting," says Finch of her performances in this production. It is part of the creative possibility Finch continues to find and appreciate at Hickory Community Theatre.

Performances of THE BOOK OF WILL are Fridays and Saturdays, February 28th through March 14th at 7:30 PM; Saturday, March 15th at 2:30PM; Sunday, March 2nd and 9th at 2:30 PM; and, Thursday, March 13th at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for youth and students.
